Always wanted to try sailing? Or maybe you've sailed before and want to pick it back up? WWYSA offers adult courses for complete beginners through to improvers — all delivered by qualified RYA instructors in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Courses follow the RYA's structured learning approach, so you develop real, recognised skills and build genuine confidence on the water. Sessions typically run in the evenings and at weekends during the sailing season — designed to fit around work and family life.
Westbury Lake is an ideal learning environment — sheltered enough to feel safe for beginners, but big enough to make sailing genuinely exciting.

COURSES FOR EVERY LEVEL
Complete Beginner
Never been in a sailing boat? No problem. Our beginner courses start from absolute zero — we'll have you sailing by the end of your first session. No experience or fitness level required.
Improver
Sailed before but want to sharpen up your technique? Our improver sessions build on your existing knowledge — tacking, gybing, sailing upwind and more, in a supportive group setting.
RYA Qualification
Progress through the RYA's nationally recognised dinghy sailing qualifications. All courses are delivered to RYA standards by our qualified instructors.
